Selecting Special Gifts For Bridesmaids
Selecting Special Gifts For Bridesmaids
One very popular idea for bridesmaid gifts is to have jewelry made to compliment the attendants’ dresses. These pieces are often handcrafted from precious materials like Swarovski crystals, freshwater pearls, and sterling silver. Necklaces, earrings, and bracelets can be custom made in colors that coordinate with the wedding colors. One caveat, though: it is very thoughtful to give your bridesmaids beautiful jewelry that they can wear in the wedding, but do not require that it become a mandatory part of their attire. When it comes to how to put all the details together, you can probably go as far as selecting their shoes, but you cannot tell grown women how to wear their hair, makeup, or jewelry. A bride who attempts this will quickly get a reputation as a bridezilla!
Personalized gifts are also very welcome. Consider engraved sterling silver jewelry or monogrammed tote bags. It is also customary to give the maid of honor a gift that is similar to, but more elaborate than, the gifts presented to the bridesmaids. For instance, if you have chosen a necklace and a pair of earrings as your bridesmaid gifts, for your maid of honor give her the full bridesmaid jewelry set including the bracelet. It would also be a very nice touch to present the jewelry in engraved sterling silver jewelry boxes, which are very elegant and can be surprisingly affordable.
You can let the theme of your wedding inspire you. Destination weddings in a tropical climate might call for unique jewelry handcrafted from shells or with starfish motifs. Travel related pieces like a monogrammed toile garment bag would also be thoughtful bridesmaid gifts for a destination wedding. For a formal wedding, more traditional gifts, such as pearl bridesmaid jewelry would be appropriate. Make sure that the gift matches not only the style of your wedding but also the personality of your attendants.
To make it even more meaningful, be sure to present your gifts at a time when all of your attendants are together. This could be done at a spa afternoon, or perhaps a bridesmaids’ luncheon. Tying the gift-giving into a special event that the bride is enjoying with her close friends will make the bridesmaid gifts that much better. After all, it is all about expressing your appreciation for your wedding party.

How to Choose Wedding Reception Candy Favors
The choices that you need to make when planning your wedding reception can seem overwhelming. One thing to consider is what you will be passing out as wedding favors. Wedding favors are a great way to say thank you to your guests for sharing your special day. Many brides and grooms choose to give candy as their wedding favors. Candy is something that can be enjoyed by guests of all ages. It is relatively inexpensive, and does not require a lot of work in order to have it ready for your guests.
You have many choices when it comes to wedding candy. Chocolate candy is a popular choice. You can have candy bars made with personalized labels that include your names, your wedding date, and even a photograph. You can order these through wedding supply companies, or you could even make them yourself on a home computer. Small, individually wrapped pieces of chocolates can be placed in small gift bags and closed with a ribbon that matches your color scheme. Many brides are also choosing to make their own chocolate candy using wedding themed chocolate molds. You can find also find candy molds in various other shapes that might be appropriate for themed wedding receptions.
If you are having an outdoor wedding reception and are worried about the chocolate melting, you could offer hard candy favors instead. Peppermints are always appreciated after dinner and can look especially attractive if you are using red flowers at the reception site. For a more casual wedding, you might choose less traditional hard candies such as root beer barrels. These would work well with a country theme.
Another option is tin boxes with breath mints. These can also be personalized with the name of the bride and groom and the wedding date. For a late night reception, try chocolate covered coffee beans. Not only do they taste great, but it will help keep your reception going all night long! For a Valentine’s Day wedding, try personalized conversation hearts. You can get lollipops with custom wrappers, or even a special design imprinted on the lollipop itself.
Another favorite is candied almonds. You can get these in several colors, such as pink, ivory, lavender, and blue. For a bride who wants a traditional candy favor, this is probably your best bet.

When Eva Longoria And Tony Parker Got Hitched, Guests Got A Real Gift!
When Eva Longoria And Tony Parker Got Hitched, Guests Got A Real Gift!
While San Antonio Spurs Hoopster Tony Parker married oh not so Desperate Housewife, Eva Longoria with family, friends and tons of celebrities attending the ceremony just outside Paris for a “summer wedding”, the happy couple weren’t the only people to get the gifts.
Each female guest received a “gift of gratitude” from the newly married couple– Van Cleef & Arpels Sweet Alhambra bracelet that is based on the French jewelry line’s iconic Alhambra design. These bracelets are made of 18K yellow gold on a delicate chain with a minature mother-of-of pearl clover charm. The Sweet Alhambra is thought to bring good luck to all who wear it and the happy couple wanted everyone to have the same luck they were enjoying on this special day.
The Sweet Alhambra collection from Van Cleef & Arpels debuts in the US in October and hopefully someone will be lucky enough to snag something from the collection which includes bracelets, necklaces, earrings and other such lovely things.
Other information that may be of interest about the wedding:
The dress – No, it’s not ornate, it’s not covered in unbelievable works of beaded art. It’s simple, modern, clean lined and elegant! The only thing overdone about the dress is the 10-foot train, but it works. I think Eva looks amazing. Do I think the dress is worth $75,000? As someone who makes replicas for a living – I know at a glance that I can make a similar style for pennies on the dollar. But that’s not the point. This is a designer, one-of-a-kind, made just for the bride by a top designer – gown. That is why it is worth it. Not because it is covered in diamonds but because it is unique and perfectly, utterly her. Personally – I love the gown and I think it is a lot more elegant then some other recent wedding gowns celebrities have chosen to wear.
The Bridesmaids – one of the things I liked most from the photos was the wedding party. Eva, like many brides today, choose to allow her bridesmaids to show their own style. Each bride wore a stunning red gown with silver detailing – but each style was a little different. The end result is a coordinated yet unique wedding party that looked almost as stunning as the bride herself. Matching bridesmaids are definitely a thing of the past.
The Location – You could get married in a back alley in Paris, France and it would still be romantic, but at a historical church and a French Castle? Wow!
The Cake – this is just about the only thing I wasn’t overly impressed with. I found the huge, red icing and red roses design to be a bit much. I would have liked it better in a white with red roses; perhaps with some delicate detailing on the layers – but then again, I loved the cake topper! Eva lighted it up a bit with a fun topped depicting a overly tall Tony in his basketball uniform, dribbling around a little Eva.
